"A system I use when I need to slow down my book buying is to award myself "book money" for every book I finish. I get 1 cent per page in the book. So, if I finish a 300 page book, I have $3.00 with which to buy books. That's enough to buy an ebook on sale, otherwise I'd have to read another book or two before I can buy something new. If I want a hardback, it's a good month or two of reading. It slows my book accumulation while rewarding reading several books before I start shopping for more.
Of course, that only works until I go to the local library sale they hold twice a year. Last time, I bought 89 books for $20."

Thanks in no small part to BookOutlet.com, I've been buying books this year at a much faster rate than I've been reading them. This solution, from a Reddit user, is the best one I've heard yet.
